The Aptitude Certificate for Directorial Functions in Social Services Organizations or Social Work Services validates the acquisition of competences necessary for managing social action in one or several social work organizations (Decree n° 2007-577 of April 19, 2007).
The training program, officially accredited by the State through the Level I National Diploma, is delivered by the Public Health Services Graduate School. The length of the program varies for each candidate and depends on his educational and professional background. Nonetheless, it will not last more than 30 months. The program is structured in 10-20 sessions throughout the year, each lasting two to four days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Coursework, in the form of theoretical lectures, case studies and exercises, will focus on the following topics:
- Field expertise in social and sanitary intervention - 196 hours
- Human resources management – 196 hours
- Economics, financial and logistics management of a social services organization – 154 hours
- Strategic planning and implementation of a project in a social services organization – 154 hours
Admission requirements: Applicants must fulfill at least one of the following conditions (as fixed by the June 5, 2007 Decree):
- Hold a minimum Level II diploma, certificate or equivalent degree recognized by the National Registry of Professional Qualifications;
- Hold a national diploma or equivalent attesting to at least three years of higher education;
- Hold a Level III diploma mentioned in the Code of Public Health or the Code of Social and Family Affairs recognized by the National Registry of Professional Qualifications, and justify at least one year of professional experience in a management position or at least three years employment in a social, socio-medical or sanitary organization;
- Be a Managing Director of an organization in the field of social, socio-medical or sanitary services.
Candidates with foreign diplomas must provide an official document confirming its equivalence level.
Admission procedure: All applications are submitted to a 3-hour written and a 30-minute oral test, at which time they can express their motivations. Candidates with minimum Level I diplomas are exempt from the written exam. Admission can be deferred up to five years.
Application deadline: January 10, 2010
Tuition : 16 200€ for the full program, but candidates may be exempt from certain modules.
